Reasons
why Activity Exchange is better than an Email Group

Activity Exchange would not be needed if Email Groups could do everything that Clubs need.

  1. Email Groups are only for those who have signed up to them. Activity Exchange provides a service to your members AND gives your club and your Activities a visible Web Presence. At the same time it allows you to control access to the private details (or even everything about) your Activities.

  2. Both Club Pages and Activity Pages are regularly and extensively scanned by various Search Engines. All this free publicity has to be good for you.

  3. Activity Exchange was designed from the start to look after a clubs Activities and to have an email group as well. Email groups have a different emphasis. Their event handling capabilities come second to their email group features.

  4. Activity Exchange does not carry intrusive banner ads or other advertising.

  5. Activity Exchange can send an email giving extensive details about an New Activity to your members. Email groups send out only a simple link so that they can get you to visit their site to see their advertising and add to their hit count. If you dial in to pick up your email and all it has is a simple link then you have to dial in again to find out what you need to know. If you only want a simple 'one-line' notification then Activity Exchnage can do that as well.

  6. The Activity Exchange web site is fast with deliberately 'light' and small pages for speed of download. It works at Activity Exchange speed and not at FreeServe or Yahoo Speed!

  7. Activity Exchange is specially designed for Social Activity Clubs such as yourselves. It already contains features that the email groups do not have and which they will never have. Activity Exchange will continue to improve and to provide features to help you run your club.

  8. Activity Exchange integrates with your existing Web Site.

  9. Activities on Activity Exchange can have a Map link to show people where it is. They can also have a web link to a site about the Venue or a site that you can set up containing more information about the event.

  10. Activity Exchange allows you to share your Activities with other clubs if you want to do that.

  11. Activity Exchange is a free service. Commercial organisations like Yahoo! and Freeserve are under increasing pressure to make money and are finding it harder and harder to provide a free service and maintain decent standards of service. Expect to see more and more intrusive advertising, reduced levels of service and even charging in the future.

  12. Activity Exchange comes from someone who has been heavily involved in running a Social Activity club. There is nothing like real world experience. In fact there is nothing like Activity Exchange.
