Activity Exchange offers secure web hosting as part of its free web hosting service.
Q. How do I get my Secure Web Hosting?To find out more about the free web hosting service please see Web Hosting. A. It comes as standard with the Free Web Hosting service. Q. How does it work? A. If you create, as part of your web site, folders called "U", "O" and/or "M" then they (and their sub-folders) will be AccessCode protected automatically. The "U" folder will need a User or better AccessCode to be supplied, the "O" folder will need an Organiser or better AccessCode to be supplied and the "M" folder will need a Master AccessCode to be supplied. Q. Where do the AccessCodes come from? A. These are the same AccessCodes as used by Activity Exchange. This is a major advantage as you only have one set of AccessCodes to distribute or be concerned about. Q. What happens if someone tries to access a file without having supplied a AccessCode?? A. They will be redirected to a page called AccessCode.asp that will sit in the root of your web site. This will prompt them for a AccessCode. You can re-write this page to suit your needs. Q. What kinds of Activity Exchange AccessCodes will it work with? A. This scheme works with Group AccessCodes. Q. What kinds of files are protected? A. All the files in the folder will be protected. This includes images and document files. Most other AccessCode protection schemes only protect web pages and cannot protect image and document files. |
